The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC)

9 Reinos travels to San Francisco and wins double gold medal

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) has announced the top Tequilas, mezcals, and other agave spirits from the 2023 judging.

Forty-eight entries won the coveted Double Gold medal: six Silver/Gold Tequilas, four Reposado Tequilas, eight Añejo Tequilas, and three Extra Añejo Tequilas. Twenty-six mezcals won Double Gold medals, as did one other agave spirit.

The judging, the most extensive evaluation of agave spirits in the history of the SFWSC, also underscored the increasing diffusion of agave spirits worldwide.

Founded in 2000, the SFWSC is North America’s oldest competition and the world’s largest spirits judging. Sixty-five judges from around the world evaluated approximately 5,500 spirits over three days in April 2023.

The Tasting Alliance, founded by Anthony Dias Blue, organized the competition. In addition to the SFWSC, the Tasting Alliance also organizes spirit competitions in New York and Singapore, wine competitions in San Francisco and New York, and competitions for beer and RTDs.

We at 9 Reinos are very happy and proud to have participated in this 2023 edition, and even more proud and excited to have won double gold medals. We are infinitely grateful to the judges and organizers of this magnificent competition.
